A paid membership club was how this maker handled scarcity, and it explains a large part of the range. Slots opened once a year and in limited number; a member got a discount at the maker's own store, a shirt, a numbered card, and — the real draw — the right to buy figures produced for members only. Nothing in that structure was unusual for the period except how completely it was used.

The consequence is visible across the whole archive. Any figure marked as a member exclusive had a print run capped by the size of the club rather than by demand, was never sold at retail, and reached anyone outside the club only second-hand. For a collector reading a catalogue years later, the marking is therefore the single most useful field on the page: it tells you in one word why a figure that looks like its shelf-sold siblings costs several times as much.
